Knowledge Doesn't Kill Creativity


There is a constant misbelief that knowing too much music theory kills creativity. This is simply a lie. Knowledge allows you to break rules; what kills creativity is the fear of breaking the rules, improvising, and trusting your ears not your eyes. We listen to music. Why do we doubt something that sounds good just because it is wrong, or out of the rules?
