YES, you read it correctly, think like a beginner when making your music. Why? Because beginners don't fear sounding like shit. They don't get writer block out of fear. Be as accomplished and skilful as you are. But when it comes to writing music. Have the MENTALITY of a beginner. Don't overthink if that snare is 3db to loud, or if those instruments aren't supposed to be together.
